Here are a few items of interest as the spring season in the garden begins:
First, welcome to our new members, who have recently been assigned available plots in the garden. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns as you start to work your plot. The best way to contact us is by email.
Mushroom manure: The first small load of mushroom manure will be available on Friday, April 1st. Please help yourself to the manure as needed for your garden plot. There are a few wheelbarrows in the shed that you can use to move the manure to your plot.
Pit drains: The pit drains around the water taps are now complete—thank you, Bill! Please do not put any soil on top of the gravel in the pit drains. These areas need to kept clean for good drainage.
Membership cards: New membership e-cards will be emailed to members today. The e-cards are designed to be saved to your mobile phone. The following local garden shops are providing a discount when you present your membership e-card:
- Amsterdam Greenhouses & Garden Centre 10% discount anytime
- Hampton Home Living (formerly Art Knapp) 10% discount on nursery items
- Triple Tree Nurseryland 10% discount on Tuesdays and Thursdays
There may be other garden retailers and greenhouses that offer a similar discount to members; if you’re aware of any, please let us know.
