Spring greetings! Here are a few items of interest as the spring season in the garden begins:
First, welcome to our new members, who have recently been assigned available plots in the garden. Please let us know if you have any questions or concerns as you start to work your plot.
Covid-19 protocol remains in place in the garden, and an updated reminder notice has been posted on both gates and on our website:
Work projects: Because of restrictions on gatherings, we won’t be able to hold a general spring work party again this year, but we will keep you posted about any work projects as the season gets underway. (One project in the planning is refurbishing the picnic table and seating area. We’ll be seeking a few handy people for late May / early June to help. Details to follow later.)
Mushroom manure: Bill will purchase small loads of mushroom manure for use in the garden starting around the second week of April. Please help yourself to the manure as needed for your garden plot. There are a couple of wheelbarrows in the shed that can be used for moving the manure to your plot.
Membership cards: New membership cards were emailed to members on March 31st. Amsterdam Greenhouses continues to offer a 10% discount when you present your membership card. There may be other garden retailers and greenhouses that offer a similar discount to members; if you’re aware of any, please let us know.
